The TCI Two-Piece Adjustable Front Pump Drive for Powerglide transmissions is designed to allow you to run your 86-96 Chevrolet engine without a functioning torque converter which reduces your rotational mass and improves acceleration.

TCI Front Pump Drives allow you to run without a torque converter where legal and can reduce rotating mass by anywhere from 15 to 30 lbs. compared to running a converter. This reduced mass improves off-the-corner acceleration and engine braking in the corners, which lowers transmission operating temperatures. Front Pump Drives require a specially designed valve body sold by TCI and are adjustable for non-motor plates and 1/8" and 1/4" motor plates. Allow race transmissions to run without a converter.
